  There’s a story of heart-break, history or passion behind every song, but too often bands strum and sing only to copy someone else…. and stories are lost. We choose the stories behind the original songs and use arrangements, new instrument tones and rhythms – and passion – to elevate the stories. Imagine 80’s synth-pop Take-on-Me or Safety Dance presented as tender ballads… or Norwegian Wood as a driving bass-led jazz instrumental… Sometimes the real story behind a popular song has been lost or never really understood

• Musicianship

  Professional training and years of performance experiences in broad backgrounds of Jazz, Classical, Pop, Rock, Alternative, and Fingerstyle music brought ToneWood Trio together. We all draw on these influences to re-imagine songs and to perform them in engaging and creative ways as you – and your audiences – have never heard them. We never read music to copy someone else – we always create synergies between styles, instruments and voices that are at once familiar and fresh and new.

• ToneWood Instruments

  Our unique Tone-Wood instruments are an important part of what we do. We use a variety of vintage and unique hand-made instruments that give us a broader range of sounds, tones, and rhythms than you may have ever heard. Harmonium, one-of-a-kind basses and vintage guitars, tololoche, autoharp, and more often appear in ToneWood Trio sets. Along with the beautiful unique sounds these instruments give us, they also create an interesting visual appeal for our audiences…. and add an element of interest, quality, and class in the eyes of your audiences.
